Set up event types, statuses, and labels

Add and edit Event Types, Event Status, Event Labels, and Event Items in Settings → Events so nights match how you work.

Written by Emma

Every night on the calendar has a type, a status, and optional labels. You can keep the built-in ones, rename them, or add your own — so a venue group can tell headline shows from in-stores, mark something On sale or Sold Out, and tag 18+ or outdoor without inventing a new system each time.

That’s all in Settings → Events. Account admins can add and edit. Changes apply the next time you pick that type, status, or label on an event.

Event Types

Types are what kind of night it is — a headline show, festival, hold, travel day, and so on. The type also decides which fields show on the event.

  1. Open Settings → Events.

  2. In Event Types, choose Add event type.

  3. Give it a name and colour. You can also pick an icon.

  4. Save.

Event Types in Settings → Events

To change one, open the menu on that row and choose Edit type.

You can mark one type as Set as default on new events so new nights start with it. See Defaults for new events and bookings.

Event Status

Status is where the night is in its life — announced, on sale, sold out, private, and similar. Status is what Event list uses to decide whether a show is published, whether Tickets or RSVP show, and whether the status name appears next to the button.

  1. Open Settings → Events.

  2. In Event Status, choose Add status.

  3. Give it a name and colour.

  4. Turn on Publish events with this status if nights with this status should appear on your shared calendar and on Event list. Changing this updates every event that already uses the status.

  5. On Settings → Website, under Show these statuses on the event, choose which status names (for example Sold Out) appear next to Tickets or RSVP. That does not hide or show the night — it only adds the name on the row.

  6. Save.

Edit event status with Publish events with this status

To change one, open the menu and choose Edit status.

Sold Out is a good example: keep Publish events with this status on so the night stays on the website, then on Settings → Website choose whether Sold Out appears next to the button and whether Tickets stay hidden for that status. See Put your upcoming shows on your website.

Event Labels

Labels are extra tags — genre, 18+, indoor or outdoor, and similar. You can put more than one on an event and use them to filter the calendar and lists.

  1. Open Settings → Events.

  2. In Event Labels, choose Add label.

  3. Give it a name and colour.

  4. Save.

Event Labels in Settings → Events

To change one, open the menu and choose Edit label. You can add more than one label as a default on new events.

Event Items

Event Items are the schedule lines on a night that are not bookings — load-in, soundcheck, doors, accommodation, and similar.

  1. Open Settings → Events.

  2. In Event Items, choose Add item type.

  3. Give it a name and colour.

  4. Save.

Event Status and Event Items in Settings → Events

To change one, open the menu and choose Edit type. You can set a default time on the type so new items start at a clock time, or move with the event start. See Schedule item times.

You can add item types on any plan. Using items on events needs Event items on your plan.

Common questions

  • Will renaming a status change nights that already use it? Yes. The name and colour update everywhere that status is used.

  • Can I delete a type, status, or label I no longer use? Yes — Delete on that row. Nights that already used it keep their history; it just stops appearing in pickers.

  • Where do new events get their first type and status? From the defaults you set here. See Defaults for new events and bookings.
