When Universe is linked to an event, your ticket types, sold counts, and sales update automatically on the event. The settlement amount lines up with what Universe shows as your earnings on the listing, after their service charge comes out. This way the number you plan around in Muzeek is the same one you see in Universe.
Ticket totals on the event
Open an event, go to Ticketing, and look at the summary cards at the top.
Tickets — total sold across every source on the event.
Ticket gross — what buyers paid, including any booking fees.
Ticket net — the face value of the tickets, before any booking fees.
Settlement amount — what you can expect from Universe on this event, after their service charge. The small line underneath says After Universe service charge, and a Projected badge sits next to the label. Select the badge for a short explanation.
On a Universe-only event, Ticket gross and Ticket net will show the same amount. More on why just below.
Why ticket gross and ticket net match
Universe charges a service fee, but doesn't break it out ticket by ticket, so Muzeek doesn't show a booking fee on each Universe ticket type. The ticket gross and ticket net you see are both the face price, times how many sold.
The service fee is still accounted for — it comes out of your Settlement amount, which is where it affects what you actually receive.
What the settlement badge means
Next to the settlement amount, you'll see a status badge:
Projected — Ticketing is still open, so the number can keep moving. It's calculated from your Universe sales so far, after discounts, with the service charge and tax on that charge taken off. It's your expected earnings, not a confirmation that the money has landed in your bank account.
Unlike Moshtix, Universe doesn't send Muzeek a final payout confirmation, so the badge stays on Projected rather than moving to Payout.
Ticket reports
Open the ticket report from the event menu or the tour overview to see sales momentum — tickets sold, how many sold today, ticket gross, and ticket net.
Settlement amount lives on the event's Ticketing section, next to the status badge where you've got the full context.
Today compares the current sold count to the last snapshot from a previous day. On the first day of tracking, you'll see a dash until there's a full day of history to compare against.
Settlements with Universe tickets
When you approve or pre-approve a settlement that includes Universe tickets, a reminder will prompt you to double-check the totals in Universe before you confirm — just in case anything has moved since the last sync. Universe ticket types stay read-only on the settlement, so there's nothing to accidentally change.
Deal terms that are a percentage of ticket sales, or ticket sales less a fee, use Settlement amount (after discounts and Universe’s service charge), not Sales (face). Ticket & Door Sales includes both tickets and door. Door deal terms use the Door Tickets source only. Other ticket deal terms exclude door. P&L percent of net uses the same Settlement amount. Ticket reports stay on Ticket Net.
Common questions
Why is my settlement amount lower than ticket net? Ticket net is the face value of what sold. Settlement amount is what's left after discounts come off and Universe takes its service charge and tax on that charge. The gap between the two is Universe's cut and any discounts you ran.
Why do ticket gross and ticket net show the same number? Universe doesn't break out a booking fee for each ticket type, so Muzeek shows the face value on both lines. The service fee is accounted for in Settlement amount.
Can I edit the Universe ticket types? No — anything synced from Universe stays read-only so your Muzeek numbers always match the source. You can still add your own custom or door ticket types alongside them for walk-up sales.
Is this what will land in my bank account? Not exactly — it's the earnings number Universe shows for the event. Your actual bank transfer may differ once refunds, chargebacks, or payout timing come into play on Universe's side.
Does this apply to Moshtix or Oztix too? They sync the same way, but each handles settlement a little differently. See Understand Moshtix ticket totals and settlement amounts for how Moshtix works.
