You do not need to collect bank and tax details from scratch every time a contact needs to be paid.
Send a secure request once, let the contact confirm their own details, and save the result to their payment profile. After that, future bookings and payments can use the saved profile unless the contact's details change.
What this helps you do
Request bank and tax details from a contact.
Send the request by email or copy a secure request link.
Ask new contacts for payment details during signup when your invite link is set up that way.
Keep payment details attached to the contact profile for future bookings.
Avoid chasing the same information every time a gig or invoice is ready.
When to use it
Use Request payment details when you need a contact to share or update the details used for payments and invoices.
This is useful when:
a new artist, DJ, supplier, or contractor is added to Contacts
a booking is ready but the payee's bank or tax details are missing
an existing contact says their bank or tax details have changed
you want the payee to confirm their own details instead of typing them in manually
You can still enter details manually from the contact payment profile when needed. The request flow is usually faster and cleaner because the contact completes it once, in their own words, using their current details.
Request details from a contact
Open Contacts.
Open the contact.
Go to Payments.
Find Request payment details.
Choose one of the request options: Request link copies a secure link so you can send it yourself, or Request payment details opens an email composer so you can send a tracked request.
The request link opens a secure public form. The contact can add the details requested on the form, save them, and close the page.
Request details by email
Use the email option when you want a tracked request with a clear message and follow-up history.
Before sending, you can review:
the recipient
cc recipients
subject
message body
preview
After the email is sent, the contact's Payments tab can show delivery and engagement activity, such as whether the request was sent or opened.
Payment details follow-ups can also be configured from Settings, Notifications for contacts who have not completed the request yet.
Use invite links for new contacts
Invite links can also collect payment details during signup.
This is useful when you regularly add new artists, contractors, crew, or suppliers and want their payment details ready before the first payment is due.
When payment details are requested on signup, the contact can add their details while creating or connecting their account. Once saved and shared, those details are available on the contact payment profile for future bookings.
What the contact completes
The form asks for the details needed for the payment workflow. This usually includes:
tax details, including Australian Business Number (ABN) where applicable
bank details
payment instructions
When the contact enters an ABN, the form can look it up on the Australian Business Register and suggest a matching tax rate.
Request super details (Australian Accounts only)
Superannuation applies only to Australian Accounts paying in AUD. It is not part of the main payment-details flow for every contact.
When superannuation is turned on for your Account, the same request form can also collect super fund and member details — but only when they apply.
The form checks the contact's ABN against the Australian Business Register:
Super fields stay hidden until a valid ABN is entered and confirmed.
Super fields appear when the registry shows the contact is registered as a sole trader (individual on an ABN).
Super fields stay hidden for companies, trusts, partnerships, and other non-sole-trader entity types.
If the ABN is cancelled on the register, super fields stay hidden until the contact updates their ABN.
When super fields are shown, the contact can add:
APRA or industry fund details, or self-managed super fund (SMSF) details
member name, number, tax file number, date of birth, and contact details
residential address for super (saved to the payment profile, separate from the contact's general address)
Super fund fields start blank on first open — the contact enters them fresh on the request form. Once saved, they sit on the same contact payment profile as bank and tax details and can be reused for future super payments.
After the details are saved
The saved payment profile can be reused across future bookings and invoices for that contact.
That means the usual flow is:
Send the request once.
The contact adds or confirms their details.
The details are saved to the contact payment profile.
Future payments use the saved profile.
If details change later, request an update or edit the profile manually.
Common questions
Is this only for super? No. Most Accounts use it for bank and tax details. Super fields appear only on Australian Accounts with superannuation turned on, and only when the ABN lookup confirms a sole trader.
Can I still enter details manually? Yes. Manual entry is available from the contact payment profile. The request flow is there so contacts can provide and confirm their own details.
Does the contact need to be signed in? A payment-details request link opens a secure public form. Invite links are used when the contact is signing up or connecting.
What if the contact's details change? Send another request or update the contact payment profile manually.
Why did super fields not appear on the form? Super only applies to Australian sole-trader payees. If superannuation is off, the ABN is not verified yet, or the registry shows a company or other entity type, super fields stay hidden.
