Documents in Muzeek let you create contracts, riders, tech specs, worksheets, and forms — all connected to your bookings. Templates save time, variables pull in live data, and custom blocks add dynamic content without manual copy-paste.
What you can create
There are three types of document:
Rich document — a formatted text document (contracts, riders, performance agreements, tech specs). Supports variables, custom blocks, and signature fields.
Form — a fillable questionnaire the other side completes on a share page (advancing forms, ticket builds, soundcheck details). Responses are saved as immutable submissions.
File — upload an existing PDF, image, or document as-is.
Templates
Templates live in Settings → Templates → Document Templates. Create one template, then attach it to any booking — the content stays consistent, and variables resolve to that booking's details.
You can create a template by:
Writing one from scratch (rich document or form)
Using Create with AI to generate a draft
Importing a .docx Word file
Uploading a file
Templates have a scope (booking or event) and a label (contract, rider, tech specs, worksheet, etc.) for filtering.
Attaching to bookings
On any booking's Documents tab, click Add document to pick a template. The document is created as a live instance linked to that booking — variables resolve, and custom blocks pull in the booking's data.
You can also create a one-off document directly on the booking without using a template.
Variables
Variables are placeholder tokens that resolve to real data when the document is viewed, shared, or exported as PDF. Insert them by typing {{ in the editor.
Common variables include:
Booking details — event name, date, venue, booking status
Party details — the contact on each side (names, emails, addresses)
Financial terms — deal term amounts, totals
Account details — your account name, legal name, address
Variables update automatically — if the event date changes, the document reflects it.
Custom blocks
Custom blocks are dynamic sections you insert from the Custom Blocks toolbar:
Account header — your logo, account name, legal name, tax ID, and address
Deal terms — live financial terms from the booking (and optionally clauses and super)
Booking list — the confirmed lineup for the event
Ticketing setup — ticket types, sources, and pricing from the event
Signature — a signing field for contracts
Form fields — input fields the other side fills in (text, date, select, file, etc.)
Form action blocks — soundcheck details or ticket build sections that write back to the event
Blocks pull live data from the linked booking or event — you don't need to update them manually.
Sharing documents
Every document has a share link that anyone with the URL can view. Share links are always active once the document is attached to a booking.
You can also email a document directly from the booking Documents tab using Send — this delivers the share link to your chosen recipients and threads into the booking's messages.
Forms and responses
Form documents collect structured answers from the other side:
Build your form using form field blocks (text, number, date, select, file, location, etc.)
Share the link or send it by email
The recipient fills it in and submits
You see their responses on the booking
Responses are frozen as immutable revisions — if they resubmit, a new revision is created and the previous one is preserved.
Response policies
You control whether the recipient can resubmit after their first response:
Allow resubmission (default) — they can edit and submit again
Lock after submit — responses are final after the first submission
PDF downloads
Any rich document or submitted form can be downloaded as a PDF. The PDF uses the same layout as the share page, with resolved variables and live block content.
Create with AI
You don't have to start from a blank page. The AI assistant can draft entire documents for you — contracts, riders, tech specs, advancing forms — based on a short description of what you need.
Here's how it works:
Click Create with AI when making a new template or booking document
Describe what you want in plain language (e.g. "a standard performance agreement for a headline act at a 500-cap venue")
The AI generates a full draft with proper structure, variables, and custom blocks already in place
Review it, make edits if needed, then save
You can also open the AI assistant on any existing document to rewrite sections, add clauses, restructure the layout, or insert the right variables and blocks. It understands the booking context — so it knows which variables are available and how to use them.
Import from Word: Already have contracts in .docx format? Upload them and the AI converts the content into a live template with variables and blocks — no re-typing required.
You can also…
Duplicate to revise — create a new editable copy of a signed or locked document
Save as template — push a booking document back to your template library
Reload from template — reset a booking document to the latest version of its linked template
Common questions
What's the difference between a label and a type? Labels (contract, rider, tech specs, etc.) are for filtering and organisation. The document type (rich document, form, file) determines how it works.
Can I use the same template across different bookings? Yes — that's exactly what templates are for. Each booking gets its own copy with variables resolved to its data.
Do variables update if I change the booking? Yes. Variables resolve live whenever the document is viewed or exported.
Can roster members use my templates? Yes. Templates you create are available to roster members on bookings where they have access.
